On examination, he showed decreased skin sensation in the trunk below the xiphoid process, loss of sensation below the inguinal region bilaterally, bilateral lower limb paralysis, loss of deep and superficial reflexes, and pathological reflexes were not elicited. MRI of thoracic spine showed: thoracic 4-plane intravertebral canal occupation, the tumor was dumbbell-shaped growing into the thoracic cavity, thoracic 4 vertebral hemangioma. The patient was treated with “thoracic posterior total laminectomy combined with open thoracic anterior intrathoracic tumor resection + posterior pedicle nail internal fixation + thoracic 4 vertebroplasty”. Four days after the operation, the patient showed activity in both lower limbs, and half a month after the operation, he recovered his urinary function and had sensation of bowel movement. At present, 45 days after the operation, the patient is able to walk on the ground with the help of crutches, and his urinary and fecal functions are normal.
