Is renal function graded based on the creatinine scale?

The old version of renal function grading standard is based on creatinine, which is divided into four grades, renal function compensation stage, renal function loss of compensation stage, renal failure stage and uremia stage. The creatinine standard for compensated renal function is 133-177 μmoI/L; for decompensated renal function is 186-442 μmoI/L; for failure stage is 451-707 μmoI/L; and >707 μmoI/L belongs to the uremia stage, which requires hemodialysis. The latest renal function staging standard is based on glomerular filtration rate (GFR), GFR>90ml/min/1.73m^2 is chronic kidney disease stage 1; GFR between 60-90ml/min/1.73m^2 is chronic kidney disease stage 2; GFR between 30-60ml/min/1.73m^2 is chronic kidney disease stage 3; GFR between 15-30ml/min/1.73m^2 is chronic renal failure stage 4; GFR below 15ml/min/1.73m^2 belongs to chronic kidney disease stage 5; kidney disease stage 5 is the corresponding old version of uremia stage, which requires hemodialysis treatment.
