Fever may occur after the chickenpox vaccine, but not everyone develops a fever. Chickenpox vaccine is made with inactivated chickenpox germs. After the chickenpox vaccine is injected, it will cause an immune reaction in the vaccinated person, resulting in mild fever, pain, redness and swelling at the injection site. Some vaccinated people may also have allergic reactions, resulting in localized skin erythema, itching, etc., but the adverse reactions are mostly relieved in 2~3 days by themselves. Symptoms such as fever after chickenpox vaccination are normal reactions and need not be overly worried. Heat treatment can be reduced by applying cold compresses and toweling the limbs. Pay attention to local hygiene to avoid infection and other conditions at the vaccination site. If fever persists after varicella vaccination, seek medical treatment promptly.
