Teraplizumab injection is about $7,200 for a single injection before Medicare, and about $1,000 after Medicare. Teraplizumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody against PD-1 receptor, which can kill tumor cells by blocking PD-1 of T lymphocytes, blocking its binding to PD-L1 on the surface of tumor cells, lifting the immunosuppression of tumor cells on immune cells, and enabling immune cells to re-exercise their anti-tumor cellular immunity. The indication for teraplizumab is the treatment of patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma who have previously received and failed systemic systemic therapy, and recurrent/metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma who have failed second-line or higher systemic therapy. The granting of conditional approval was based on results generated from objective remission rates in a single-arm clinical trial. Full approval of this indication is contingent upon ongoing clinical trials confirming long-term clinical benefit in individuals with advanced melanoma. Adverse reactions include anemia, abnormal liver function, proteinuria, hypothyroidism, fever, rash, and pruritus. It is contraindicated in individuals who are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or excipients contained in the product. It is not suitable for patients with moderate to severe hepatic or renal insufficiency, or children under 18 years of age. It is recommended to use the drug under medical supervision.
