Does H. pylori infection heal on its own?

  H. pylori infection usually does not heal on its own and requires professional treatment to completely kill the bacteria. H. pylori may cause symptoms such as acid reflux, stomach pain, bad breath or heartburn, which can be very damaging to the stomach if left untreated for a long time, so early treatment is recommended. H. pylori is a gram-negative bacillus, spiral-shaped, microaerobic, and requires high growth conditions. It is not difficult to completely eliminate H. pylori, but the possibility of self-healing is extremely low. H. pylori infection tends to cause damage to the gastric mucosa and presents a diversity of clinical diseases, such as gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastric cancer, etc. Patients may experience belching, fullness, upper abdominal discomfort, vague pain, burping, nausea and vomiting. Patients are advised to visit related departments such as gastroenterology as early as possible. Patients with H. pylori have a very strong family aggregation, so for complete eradication and to avoid re-infection, it is best that other members of the family be treated at the same time during treatment and that a meal-sharing system be implemented to avoid re-infection.
