Is urology the same as gynecology?

Urology is not the same as male medicine.

First of all, urology is a department that can be consulted by either men or women, while gynecology is only a department that is consulted by men. Secondly, urology encompasses diseases of the entire urinary system, such as the kidneys, bladder, ureters, urethra, etc.; whereas gynecology mainly treats problems of the male genitals. So there is a difference between the two departments.

Specific treatment is manifested as urology mainly treats diseases of the urinary system and other aspects of the urinary system, such as stones, tumors, inflammation, trauma and so on. The treatment of male department is more inclined to functional rehabilitation, such as fertility problems, sexual dysfunction, male genital development and other aspects of the problem.

However, at present, some hospitals have not separated urology and men’s department, so if you suffer from men’s diseases, you can also consult the urology department for diagnosis and treatment.
