You can’t generalize whether IgA nephropathy is serious or chronic nephritis is serious, IgA nephropathy is a pathological diagnosis and chronic nephritis is a clinical diagnosis.IgA nephropathy can be manifested clinically as chronic nephritis, and the pathological type of chronic nephritis can be manifested as IgA nephropathy.IgA nephropathy has a very large difference in prognosis due to the different severity of pathologic changes and clinical manifestations. IgA nephropathy is characterized by simple hematuria or mild proteinuria, with no special clinical treatment and a good prognosis. For patients with nephrotic syndrome, the prognosis is good if the hormone response is good and the proteinuria is completely resolved. Patients with acute glomerulonephritis, if the hormone combined with cyclophosphamide shock therapy, progressive decline in renal function, the majority of patients have a poor prognosis. Patients with chronic nephritis have a poor prognosis if the pathologic type is severe and proteinuria persists without remission, and once the decline in renal function occurs, it is chronic and progressive until the end stage of renal failure and uremia.
