Hyoid cysts can travel to ENT, Dentistry, Pediatric Surgery and other departments.
Metaphyseal hyoid cysts are common congenital disorders of the middle of the neck. They can occur in the thyroglossal region, the suprasternal region, the supraglossal region, and the root of the tongue, mostly below the hyoid bone near the anterior midline of the neck, and less commonly at the root of the tongue. The disease can be diagnosed and treated in ENT, stomatology, and in the case of children, in pediatric surgery.
Thyroglossal cysts are characterized by shortness of breath and a lump on the side of the neck. When thyroglossal cysts are combined with hoarseness, dysphagia, dysphonia, dyspnea, etc., it often suggests intralaryngeal extension of the thyroglossal cyst, which requires prompt surgical intervention.
If the above symptoms occur, or if you suspect a thyroglossal cyst, it is recommended that you go to the hospital in a timely manner.
