Inflammation on TCT indicates the presence of other bacterial components in the vaginal or cervical secretions, resulting in a large number of inflammatory cells or chronic lesions of the cervix, such as chronic cervicitis. If there is inflammation of the cervix, it is normal and there is no need to panic. If there is acute inflammation of the vagina, local treatment of the inflammation is needed at this time. Patients with chronic cervicitis can be left untreated. It is currently considered clinically as a pseudo-erosion formed by the outgrowth of the columnar epithelium of the cervix.
