Itchy nipples and areolas are considered to have the following two disease possibilities: the first disease is eczema-like carcinoma, the cause of which is not clear at present. It may be thought that eczema-like carcinoma of the breast, originates from the ducts of the breast and the opening area of the sweat ducts as carcinoma in situ. From there, the lesions may expand downward along the ducts and epithelium of the breast, eventually invading the connective tissue, and upward into the epidermis to form eczema-like carcinoma. The second disease is eczema, mainly due to genetic factors or endocrine diseases, such as hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, and possibly nutritional disorders or internal organ dysfunction and tumors, can cause breast eczema to occur. It may also be caused by local clothing irritation, or local environmental temperature changes.
