When is the best time to use the pelvic belt

  Women with postpartum separation of the pubic symphysis are recommended to start using the pelvic belt 2-3 days after normal delivery, or about 1 week after cesarean section, and it is generally recommended to use it for at least 2 months.  The pelvic bone has good plasticity within 42 days after delivery, and the use of pelvic belt can play a temporary fixation role at this time, which can prevent pain caused by movement. Therefore, it is ideal for pelvic tightening recovery if moderate external force is applied to the pelvis in time within 42 days after delivery. According to women’s postpartum recovery, they should start to use pelvic belt after 2-3 days of normal delivery and 5-6 days of cesarean delivery. Because it takes 2 months for the ligaments to recover to their original degree, it is generally recommended to use it for more than 2 months; some women can also use the belt for about 2-3 months according to their own recovery situation, or even 6 months after delivery.  In addition, the mother in the postpartum also need to pay attention to mood adjustment, diet and nutrition with meat and vegetables; pay attention to scientific management of personal hygiene, including breast cleaning, perineal cleaning and general skin cleaning; at the same time, appropriate to do postpartum rehabilitation exercises to promote the body recovery and pelvic floor tissue repair.
