Jin Gui Kidney Qi Tang is composed of Six-flavored Di Huang Pills plus Cinnamon and Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, in which Radix Di Huang nourishes kidney yin; Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum nourishes the liver and kidney; Chinese yam strengthens the spleen and qi; Poria strengthens the spleen and kidneys; Zedoar and Dampy can lower the deficiency fire; and Cinnamon and Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori can warm the kidney yang. All the drugs in the formula work together to tonify the Kidneys and support Yang. Jin Gui Ren Qi Tang can be used to treat signs of Kidney-Yang deficiency (lack of yang energy in the kidneys), such as cold pain in the lower back and knees, excessive nocturia, impotence and premature ejaculation, and edema.
