The sound of a heartbeat heard inside the ear is clinically referred to as pulsatile tinnitus. For the treatment of pulsatile tinnitus, clinically there are the following aspects: First, if the patient has a bulbar bulla, i.e., a jugular vein bulla causing the patient to have recurrent tinnitus sounds. In this case, if the bulbar tumor is relatively large, we can consider going to neurosurgery or otorhinolaryngology to have the bulbar tumor removed, and the tinnitus can disappear after the removal surgery. Secondly, some patients have tinnitus induced by staying up all night, emotional stress, mental tension and so on. The onset of tinnitus is relatively short and no obvious organic lesions are found during clinical examination. It is recommended that patients take more rest and avoid staying up late and getting angry. The third type of tinnitus is seen in pregnant women. During pregnancy, the blood pressure increases due to the increase of blood volume in the whole body, which leads to the occurrence of pulsatile tinnitus in pregnant women. The fourth type of tinnitus is seen in patients with malignant hypertension, where the high blood pressure causes tinnitus, and the patient needs to go to the cardiology department for blood pressure lowering treatment. The fifth type of tinnitus is caused by severe anemia, which is treated by rehydration or blood transfusion according to the patient’s condition. The sixth type of tinnitus is caused by hyperthyroidism, so patients need to go to the endocrinology department for symptomatic treatment.
