Cefoperazone Sulbactam Instructions

Cefoperazone sulbactam name is called Sulphen, it is a compound preparation of the third generation cephalosporin cefoperazone and β-lactamase inhibitor sulbactam, with a wide antibacterial spectrum and strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and some anaerobic bacteria, and also effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Its main indications are for respiratory system infections, skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, biliary tract infections, abdominopelvic infections, bone and joint infections, and bloodstream infections caused by sensitive bacteria. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to penicillin, cephalosporins and beta-lactamase inhibitors. It is administered intravenously in 2-8 g daily in 2-4 divided doses for adults, depending on the type and severity of the infection, and the maximum daily dose of sulbactam should not exceed 4 g. The concentration of this drug in the biliary system is relatively high, and it is the first-line drug for biliary system infections, and alcohol consumption during the drug administration and within 5 days of discontinuation may cause disulfiram-like reactions, so alcohol and alcoholic beverages should be prohibited during use.
