The prognosis of septic encephalitis is directly related to the causative organism and the patient’s physical condition, as well as to whether or not effective antibiotic treatment is given at an early stage. Septic encephalitis caused by pneumococcus is more common in the clinic, and antibiotic treatment can be given to the patient, and the patient’s symptoms can be significantly reduced in about 10-14 days. Septic encephalitis caused by gram-negative bacilli has a slightly longer course, lasting about 3 weeks. Despite significant advances in the development of antibiotics for septic encephalitis, some patients with septic encephalitis have life-threatening illnesses, and some patients with septic encephalitis meningitis have neurologic deficits.
