The following treatments are available when the dentin is exposed on the tooth surface: in case of accidental injury and tooth fracture exposing dentin, cavity shape can be prepared in the defective area and anatomical shape can be restored using composite resin bonded restoration, when the tooth is missing enamel and exposing dentin due to heavy abrasion, treatment can be carried out according to the sensitivity of the tooth. The thicker dentin areas can be closed with anti-allergy medication to reduce pain, and the thinner dentin areas require preparation of inlay bonded restorations. Severely abraded dentin with thin dentin that is close to the pulp producing severe pain requires removal of the pulp and fabrication of a full crown restoration after completion of root canal treatment.
