The Liver Function Pentameter can only check for liver damage, not for hepatitis B. The Liver Panel includes alanine aminotransferase, glutamine aminotransferase, direct bilirubin, indirect bilirubin, and total bilirubin. The Liver Function Pentameter is mainly used to check the severity of liver damage and cannot be used to check if you have hepatitis B. To check if you have hepatitis B, you need to do the hepatitis B two-way test to see if the hepatitis B surface antigen is positive, combined with a quantitative hepatitis B DNA test to find out if the hepatitis B virus is in an active state of replication. Because some of the hepatitis B virus carriers have normal liver function, the liver function test can only detect whether the liver function is abnormal or not, but cannot reflect whether they are infected with hepatitis B or not.
