For liver puncture biopsy as described by the patient, it is done to further clarify the nature of the disease in the liver area and whether it is benign or malignant for diagnosis. For liver puncture biopsy, it is performed under ultrasound guidance. The total cost of a liver puncture biopsy is around$1000. If the patient is an inpatient, he or she will need further blood tests for routine blood work, liver function and coagulation, as well as tests for infectious diseases prior to the liver puncture biopsy. If the patient does not have coagulation abnormalities, ultrasound-guided liver aspiration biopsy may be considered. Based on the pathological findings of the liver aspiration biopsy, the patient needs to further consider the associated treatment. If the pathologic findings are benign, the patient is considered to be a benign disease possibility. Depending on the size of the nodules in the liver area and the tumorigenic disease, the patient is considered for surgery and other treatments. If the biopsy results are malignant, surgery will be actively considered. After surgical treatment, the patient will need about 4-6 sessions of conventional chemotherapy after surgery.
