What is the disease of shaking your head unconsciously

The unconscious shaking of the head is considered to be idiopathic tremor, also known clinically as primary tremor. For patients with idiopathic tremor, the patient may have postural tremor or motor tremor, and generally both upper extremities and the head are the first to be involved, and the frequency of tremor is faster than that of Parkinson’s patients. The treatment of idiopathic tremor is a very important one. For the treatment of idiopathic tremor, patients can be given medications such as propranolol, or symptomatic treatment such as acupuncture if the patient’s life is not significantly affected. If the patient has a combination of anxiety, benzodiazepines, such as alprazolam, can be given. Gabapentin and topiramate can also be considered for patients, but it is recommended that they be used under the guidance of a physician. In a small number of patients, if the medication is not satisfactory and the symptoms are clinically severe, surgical treatment such as thalamic disruption can be considered.
