Infection with pubic lice, or pubic lice disease, is characterized by itching, skin lesions, secondary damage such as folliculitis, and other manifestations.
Pubic lice disease is a relatively common disease in the Department of Venereal Diseases, which is caused by the spread of pubic lice.
1. Itching: often feel intense itching in the pubic hair area, especially at night. It is mainly confined to the pubic area, and some patients may also occur in the perianal area, lower abdomen, armpits and so on.
2. Skin lesions: scratching due to itching, scratches and scabs may appear on the affected area. At the same time, there may be scattered blue bleeding petechiae and dotted dirty brown bloodstains on the underwear, which are caused by bleeding from the blood-sucking place of pubic lice.
3. Secondary damage: excessive scratching can lead to folliculitis or boils.
4. Other symptoms: grayish-white sand-like particles, i.e. lice eggs and slow-moving pubic lice can be seen on pubic hair and other parts of the body.
