Who should be on the alert for pancreatic cancer

  Pancreatic cancer is a highly malignant tumor of the digestive system, and most patients are already in the middle and late stages when they get the diagnosis, and there is no ideal treatment yet. Early diagnosis is of greater importance in the prevention of tumors. In clinical practice, we have encountered many patients who have been treated with epigastric discomfort as gastric disease, which has been delayed for a long time. When pancreatic cancer is finally diagnosed, the best treatment opportunity has been missed.  Who should be alerted to pancreatic cancer? Patients with the following symptoms should pay attention to them and have their upper abdomen tested with CT if necessary.  Patients over 40 years old with any of the following symptoms should be highly suspected of pancreatic cancer, especially if they are smokers: 1. Unexplained obstructive jaundice.  2. Recent unexplained weight loss >10%.  3.Recent unexplained epigastric or low back pain.  4.Recent indistinct and unexplained dyspeptic symptoms with normal endoscopy.  5.Sudden onset of diabetes without predisposing factors, such as family history, obesity.  6.Sudden onset of unexplained steatorrhea.  7, Episodes of spontaneous pancreatitis.
