Three-month-old babies always scratching their heads may be caused by eczema or heat rash on the head, neck, headache or head discomfort.
1. Eczema or heat rash on the head, face and neck: This may cause localized itching, which may lead to scratching of the head. Observe the child for localized rashes.
2. Headache or head discomfort: Because three-month-old babies can neither speak nor express themselves, they relieve headache and head discomfort by scratching their heads, often accompanied by crying, shaking their heads, waving their hands, pulling out their hair, etc. This may be usually associated with meningitis, cerebral contusion, otitis media, pneumonia, influenza, etc., leading to headache or head discomfort.
If your baby always scratches his/her head and the cause cannot be found, it is recommended that you take your baby to the relevant specialized department for examination and treatment in a timely manner so that specific treatment can be provided.
