Patients with painful cartilage on the outside of the ear are mainly considered to be caused by repeated compression of the cartilage, often with inflammation formation, and in severe cases, patients with significant swelling and pain. In terms of treatment, active anti-inflammation is required. Cefdinir dispersible tablets or cefdinir capsules are commonly used clinically, and a clear allergy history is required before using the medication. If the patient has obvious pain and particularly severe swelling, treatment by infusion can be considered. The patient can be treated with an IV cefuroxime sodium injection or cefoperazone sodium injection, while Bactrim ointment can be applied to the ear cartilage for local anti-inflammation. After a week or so of active treatment, the patient’s condition should improve significantly. Avoid repeatedly rubbing the ear and squeezing the cartilage of the ear for a long time while sleeping.
