What causes widening of the renal pelvis

Widening of the renal pelvis may be caused by excessive holding of urine for examination. If this cause is ruled out, it may also be caused by renal pelvic stones, ureteral stenosis, ureteral stones, ureteral tumors and so on.
1. Renal pelvis stones: As the stones are located at the outlet of the renal pelvis, they may block the urine flow and cause widening of the renal pelvis.
2. Ureteral stenosis: Due to ureteral stenosis, it may cause poor urine flow, resulting in obstruction of upper urinary tract and causing dilatation of the renal pelvis, so that widening of the renal pelvis occurs.
3. Ureteral stones: due to the presence of stones in the ureter, it will hinder the drainage of urine and may lead to widening of the renal pelvis.
4. Ureteral tumor: Because the tumor presses the ureter, it makes the urine not discharged well, causing obstruction of the urethra, which leads to widening of the renal pelvis.
If patients find the widening of renal pelvis, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy under the guidance of doctors.
