Five percent of the parents asked for their children, 2.5 percent of the children themselves asked for amputation surgery, but more than 95 percent of the children and parents were ignorant of the indications for amputation surgery and the risks of the treatment.  It is some unscrupulous businessmen in the society who take advantage of the “dwarf-phobia” and the lack of relevant scientific knowledge to set a series of commercial traps, especially the commercial traps implied in some height increase advertisements, which make many parents and affected children fall for the deception. For this reason, we should further improve the health education and publicity mechanism for patients in our future clinical practice, strengthen the communication between doctors and patients, and improve the level of knowledge about children’s growth and development as much as possible, and we also expect everyone to pay attention to these problems and strengthen the monitoring of children’s growth and development. In addition, since the information sources of these children and their parents about various height enhancement products are: 50% from TV, 40% from newspapers and magazines, 5% from internet and 5% from other sources. Therefore, we call on the relevant authorities to strengthen legislation and improve the regulatory mechanism, especially to strengthen the supervision and management of the media and advertising, etc.
