The standard photographic position for mammography includes two breasts in the cephalocaudal (CC) and oblique (MLO) positions, with a total of four exposures. Photographic procedure (1) The patient stands in front of the mammography machine. (2) The technician places the breast on the pallet. (3) The compression plate slowly compresses and spreads the breast. (4) Exposure. Precautions (1) Please choose to wear appropriate clothing before the examination. (2) The upper garment and decorations must be completely removed during the examination. (3) Good compression of the breast tissue is essential for a good radiographic result. In order to clearly visualize the deeper tissues and reduce the radiation dose, the technician will try to compress the breast. Compression makes you feel pressure or pain, but it usually lasts less than a minute at a time, and that minute could save your life. Therefore, you should also be aware of the following during the examination: Eliminate tension and choose a position that makes you feel relatively comfortable A completely relaxed body can relieve the discomfort caused by compression Breast tissue can withstand greater pressure during slow compression.
