How long does it take for chronic appendicitis to heal on its own with one painful episode?

The duration of each attack of chronic appendicitis is related to the individual’s physical condition and the severity of the attack, and there is no certain pattern. If chronic appendicitis is in the quiescent phase, the patient will not feel any discomfort. The recurrence of chronic appendicitis can be triggered when the patient’s resistance or immunity decreases, and when there is a combination of infection or other diseases. In case of recurrence of chronic appendicitis, if the pain is mild, the patient may get better in about 1 week, during which it is recommended to cooperate with symptomatic treatment and take medication to relieve the symptoms as prescribed by the doctor. If chronic appendicitis is combined with gastrointestinal dysfunction and dyspepsia, it is recommended to go to the general surgery department in time and actively cooperate with the doctor to take surgery to remove the appendix in order to eliminate the future problems. Patients are advised to strengthen their immunity and avoid straining, staying up late and irregular eating habits to reduce the number of chronic appendicitis attacks.
