Can a gallbladder removal be completed with a hole?

Can a gallbladder removal be completed with a hole? It is perfectly possible. Minimally invasive cholecystectomy done by punching a hole has become popular, but it usually takes 3-4 holes to complete. With the advancement of technology and the rise of cosmetic demand, single-hole laparoscopic cholecystectomy has emerged and has been maturely used in clinical practice, which means that the gallbladder can be removed by punching a hole in the stomach. More than 50 cases have been successfully performed in our hospital, with an average operation time of 40 minutes and no cases of transit and no serious complications so far. Can all benign gallbladder diseases be accomplished with a single hole? Basically, yes. Single-port surgery is generally not recommended in the following cases: excessively obese people (height body mass index Kg/m2>30); people with gallbladder atrophy; and people with acute cholecystitis. What are the advantages of single-port laparoscopy? Less trauma, less pain, faster recovery and better cosmesis. The incision is mildly painful and hidden at the umbilicus, and the surgical scar is basically invisible. Patient feedback on January 15, 2013 I had a single-port cholecystectomy on March 19, 2012 because I had gallbladder stones for more than 10 years, and I recovered well after the operation. Because I had 2 obvious surgical scars on my body before, I was especially worried that there would be more minimally invasive scars after gallbladder removal, but Dr. Li only made a single hole at my belly button to remove the gallbladder, and now I can’t see the scars at all. I am very grateful to Dr. Li for his excellent medical skills. Feedback from patient on July 2, 2014 I had gallbladder infection when I was pregnant and had one attack, which I didn’t know, but I just thought it was a common gastroenteritis. In the second month after delivery, she had two more acute attacks and was finally diagnosed. Since then, I had many attacks, but because I was breastfeeding, I did not make up my mind to cure it. After weaning, I found Dr. Li Ke Ke on the recommendation of a friend. After reading my medical history carefully, Dr. Li gave his professional opinion that my gallbladder had shrunk from more than 80mm to more than 40mm due to multiple inflammations in a year, and the gallbladder was full of stones, so it was not beneficial for my health to delay any longer. After an in-depth communication, his professional analysis and attentive care helped me to eliminate all my worries. I have now had my stitches removed post-operatively and my wound is recovering well. What is especially worth mentioning is that, considering my young age, he deliberately used the more difficult “single-port laparoscopic” surgery, which has almost no scars and looks almost integrated with the umbilicus. Many of my friends who came to visit me said they would recommend him to their patients with cholecystitis after hearing that he was able to turn a surgery that required three holes into one. He is a good doctor and a good doctor. It is unfortunate to suffer from cholecystitis, but fortunate to meet Dr. Li!
