Which of the three itches of bowel cancer are referred to

The saying that bowel cancer is itchy in three places does not exist. Bowel cancer patients usually do not have itchy symptoms in the early stage, and if itchy occurs, its location is not fixed. Early stage of bowel cancer usually has no or insignificant symptoms, as the condition develops, symptoms such as blood in stool, fatigue, abdominal pain and anemia may appear. In the late stage when the tumor metastasizes to the liver, the patient will also have jaundice and different degrees of skin itching. If the tumor is located in the anal canal, itching in the perianal area may occur when the skin is irritated by more erosion and bleeding or mucus. Generally, itching in patients with intestinal cancer may be caused by tumor cells producing histamine, proteolytic endonuclease and other substances, which stimulate the itching produced by skin sensory nerve endings. However, itching symptom is not necessarily caused by intestinal cancer, but may also be caused by mosquito bites, allergy, dry skin, endocrine diseases, liver and kidney diseases, and so on. When patients have itching symptoms, they should go to hospital immediately and make clear judgment under doctors’ guidance.
