Hepatitis B virus surface antibody positivity refers to the presence of antibodies specific to the hepatitis B virus in the body.
Hepatitis B surface antibodies can neutralize the hepatitis B surface antigen, thus clearing the virus and keeping the body free from infection. Hepatitis B virus surface antibody positivity is categorized into simple hepatitis B surface antibody positivity and non-simple hepatitis B surface antibody positivity.
1. Positive simple hepatitis B surface antibody: Positive simple hepatitis B surface antibody means that one has been vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine in the past, and the higher the titer of hepatitis B antibody is, the better the immunization effect is.
2. Non-simple hepatitis B surface antibody positive:
(1) Accompanied by positive core antibody. On behalf of the body has been infected with hepatitis B virus, whether there is hepatitis B virus in the body should be examined for hepatitis B virus DNA quantification, if the result is negative, it can be ruled out that there is hepatitis B virus infection at present.
(2) Positive e antibody and core antibody. It is seen in the body of previous hidden infection or acute and chronic hepatitis B, but through the body immunity virus has been cleared, and the production of 3 antibodies. Or it is seen in patients with chronic hepatitis B who have obtained hepatitis B surface antigen negative through antiviral treatment and achieved cure, and under normal circumstances, there is no more hepatitis B virus infection in the body.
(3) With hepatitis B surface antigen positive. It means that there is hepatitis B virus infection in the body and the pre-S/S gene of hepatitis B virus has been mutated. The virus without mutation has been cleared by immunization and surface antibody has been produced, while the mutated virus is still positive.
It is important to note that if the mutated virus is still positive, then further investigation of the hepatitis B virus gene is required. If positive, and liver damage exists, antiviral treatment should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor in a timely manner.
