How soon can you have intercourse after appendicitis surgery

How long can we have intercourse after appendicitis surgery should be determined according to the type of surgery, postoperative wound recovery and the patient’s gender. In general, if the surgery is laparoscopic for acute simple appendicitis and the recovery is good, you can have intercourse appropriately after 15 days. However, if the surgical procedure causes abdominal infection or abscess formation, or if the patient undergoes open surgery with a large incision, the recovery time for such patients will be extended accordingly, and intercourse should be considered only after the wound has fully recovered and there is no other discomfort. In the case of male patients, it is generally recommended that intercourse should be allowed only 1 month after surgery, and in the case of female patients, intercourse can be considered after 2 weeks after surgery. Since intercourse can stimulate intestinal spasms and cause abdominal pain, and can also cause wound tears, it is important not to have intercourse too early. When having intercourse, pay attention to control the intensity of activity and posture to avoid pulling the wound.
