Consequences of depression

The consequences of depression can be seen from three aspects, the first is the impact on the individual, the second is the impact on the family, and the third is the impact on society. The first impact on the individual, long-term depression can make the patient’s social function more seriously impaired, unable to study, work, socialize or even live a normal life, the patient will not be able to realize self-worth, and can not carry out normal interpersonal interaction, such as love, marriage. The second is the harm to the family. Families of depressed patients may not be very harmonious, and there is no emotional communication or avoidance with relatives, so families are generally more painful. The third is the harm to society. Severely depressed patients may injure themselves, commit suicide, or injure or kill others, which brings negative impact and harm to society.
