When a 2-month-old baby has white growths in his mouth, if you exclude milk flaps and other food debris that can be easily removed with a cotton swab, most likely the baby is suffering from thrush. Thrush is an easy disease for babies of low months of age and belongs to Candida albicans infection, which is a fungus, and if it is not removed completely, thrush can easily recur. Most babies are susceptible to this fungus when they are exposed to bottles or pacifiers or when their mother’s nipples are not very clean, and they are also susceptible to Candida albicans when their immune system is low. Babies with thrush can be treated with a dab of camptothecin on the affected area and be careful to keep the items they touch clean.
