Small cell lung cancer is very fast developing and highly malignant, and many are already in the middle to late stages when detected. Even if they are early stage when detected, many of them will develop metastasis in three months to six months. Small cell lung cancer is prone to brain metastasis at an early stage, and usually there is no way to do surgical treatment or surgery is of little significance. For small cell lung cancer, only some of the very early ones can be considered for surgery. In other cases, chemotherapy is usually the main treatment and can be combined with or sequential radiotherapy. The treatment effect of small cell lung cancer is very poor and the survival time is generally not long. If small cell lung cancer is combined with brain metastasis, radiotherapy to the brain is required. In addition, the main chemotherapy for small cell lung cancer is etoposide and cisplatin. It may be more sensitive at the beginning, but the treatment effect is not good at the later stage.
