Hepatic encephalopathy is caused by various causes, and death is mainly due to electrolyte disturbances and severe coma or brain herniation due to intracranial hypertension. Hepatic encephalopathy is a condition in which the patient develops portal hypertension and upper gastrointestinal bleeding at the end stage due to cirrhosis, or a primary tumor of the liver. Patients may develop black stools in the intestine, and these conditions can precipitate hepatic encephalopathy. Depending on the degree of hepatic encephalopathy, patients with severe hepatic encephalopathy who are in a coma or lethargic phase and are not responding to calls need to be treated aggressively. For the first treatment after coma, it is important to pay attention to the infusion of hexa amino acids or arginine and other drugs, active treatment of hepatic encephalopathy and hepatoprotective therapy, small amounts of plasma and albumin infusion. In addition, we should eat a light diet and avoid eating a diet that is too oily or high in protein to avoid further aggravation of hepatic encephalopathy.
