What causes eye swelling and drowsiness?

Diffuse and sleepy eyes may be caused by sleep deprivation at night, cerebral infarction, glaucoma and other reasons. 1. Lack of sleep at night: patients’ irregular life for a long time and excessive late-night sleep cause changes in the biological clock, which leads to insufficient sleep, usually manifested as dizziness, headache, eye swelling and drowsiness and other symptoms. 2. Cerebral infarction: patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and other diseases may induce cerebral infarction, so that the blood circulation in the brain is impaired, resulting in limited ischemic necrosis or softening of brain tissues, often manifested as impaired consciousness, limb paralysis, dizziness, eye swelling and drowsiness and other symptoms. 3. Glaucoma: Progressive optic nerve damage and visual field loss caused by elevated intraocular pressure, usually manifested as blurred vision, headache, hazy vision during the day, eye swelling and drowsiness. When patients have symptoms of eye swelling and drowsiness, if the symptoms are not relieved after resting, they need to go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
