The femoral neck is located in the hip joint and serves as the connection between the femoral head and the femur, so as to maintain the connection between the femoral head and the acetabulum and play the role of hip joint movement. The neck of the femur is relatively weak, and after a fall, it is easy to cause a fracture of the neck of the femur and can easily lead to necrosis of the femoral head, especially the fracture of the neck of the femur at the bottom of the femoral head and the fracture in the middle of the femoral head, which can easily lead to ischemia of the femoral head, and over time, necrosis of the femoral head will occur, requiring a femoral head replacement or a total hip replacement for complete treatment. In some patients with femoral neck fractures, if the fracture is located inferiorly, the hollow nail is usually used to fix the fracture in a zigzag pattern, which can effectively promote the healing of the fracture, but the majority of patients with femoral neck fractures require femoral head or total hip replacement.
