What’s that streaky white stuff that pops when you squeeze a pimple?

Pimples are medically called acne, and the white streaks that come out from squeezing acne may be sebaceous plugs, acne plugs, or pus-filled secretions from an infection.
1. Sebaceous plugs: Sebaceous glands produce a lot of sebum, and the opening of the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles is blocked, affecting the discharge of secretions, blocked to a certain extent, the formation of sebaceous plugs. The sebum that accumulates outside the pores may oxidize and turn black.
2. Acne plugs: sebum, keratin, bacteria, some of which also contain a small amount of mites, accumulate and clog within the pores for a long period of time and are caused by inadequate cleansing.
3. Infected purulent secretions: Prolonged squeezing or irritation of acne through incorrect means, and the process is not sterilized, which can easily lead to bacterial invasion and infection. The most common infecting bacteria is Propionibacterium acnes.
It is not recommended to squeeze and treat the secretions on your own. If you have any discomfort, you should go to the hospital and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
