After the diagnosis of varicose veins of the lower limbs was clarified by color ultrasound, the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins was adopted, i.e., radiofrequency closure of the great saphenous vein + foam sclerotherapy. The surgery was performed with local anesthesia, almost no incision, and the patient could get down to the floor after the surgery and was discharged on the same day, with good postoperative recovery, and the follow up did not show any obvious discomfort as well as no varicose veins were seen. Basic information] Female, 50 years old [Type of disease] Varicose veins of the lower limbs [Hospital] Liaoning Provincial People’s Hospital [Time of consultation] September 2021 [Treatment plan] Minimally invasive surgery (radiofrequency closure of the great saphenous vein + foam sclerotherapy) [Treatment cycle] Hospitalization for 2 days, postoperative 3 days and six months of outpatient follow-up [Treatment effect] Postoperative recovery is good, and six months later, review of the varicose veins of the lower limbs is cured, In September 2021, a 50-year-old middle-aged female patient came to the department with varicose veins of the left lower extremity for 10 years, aggravated with distension and pain for 6 months. 10 years ago, the patient had no obvious cause for the tortuous expansion of the veins of the left lower extremity without itching, dandruff, melanin deposition, and left lower extremity distension and pain for 6 months, which was obvious after prolonged sitting and walking, and was slightly relieved by elevation of the limb, and she was diagnosed and treated at the hospital for further treatment. She came to the hospital for further diagnosis and treatment. Recently, the patient’s diet and sleep were fine, defecation and urination were normal, and there was no significant weight loss. When asked about his medical history, the patient had no history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, heart disease or cerebrovascular disease. On examination, the vital signs were stable, the left lower limb could be seen as a localized tortuous dilated vein, the left calf was swollen, the skin color was normal, the skin temperature was slightly high, the arterial pulsation could be touched, and the sensory-motor function was also acceptable. After admission to the hospital, relevant examinations were completed to assess the condition. Preoperative cardiopulmonary examination and test results did not show any obvious abnormality. The color ultrasound of the veins of the lower limbs showed varicose saphenous vein in the left calf segment, and no obvious abnormality was found in the deep veins. Considering that the patient was a middle-aged woman, with no clear complications of varicose veins of the lower limbs and a high demand for minimally invasive treatment, the patient and her family were advised to prefer the most advanced minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins, which is radiofrequency closure of saphenous vein in the main trunk and injection of foam sclerosing agent in the branch veins. This method does not require incision, can achieve zero incision, the effect is significant, less traumatic, the same day can be discharged from the hospital. After the patient and his family agreed to the surgery, the operation was carried out smoothly and the patient recovered well after the operation. The operation was performed with local anesthesia, and the patient could get down to the floor after the operation. After 2 hours of observation, the patient was discharged from the hospital by appointment and was reviewed and replaced with compression stockings 3 days after discharge. Third, the treatment effect Three days after the operation, the patient returned to review, see the puncture point healing well, no redness, swelling and oozing, the incision site for dressing, and then dismantle the elastic bandage, the use of medical compression stockings, for the venous return has a role in promoting. Half a year later, the patient was re-examined again, there is no obvious varicose veins, visible varicose veins of the lower limbs are cured, and there is no scar, recurrence, the patient is satisfied with the effect of this treatment. Fourth, precautions I am glad that the patient recovered well after the operation, in addition, after radiofrequency closure, the patient needs to wear compression stockings for a period of time, clinically, according to different situations, it is recommended that the patient should wear them for at least 3-6 months. And there will be swelling after surgery, but most of it is normal. If there is no problem after 1 month’s review, the patient can do a little heavier physical labor and gradually adapt to it. Personal perception varicose veins of the lower limbs is the most common type of venous disease of the lower limbs, early prevention, avoid sitting and standing for a long time, and early medical checkups after the appearance of relevant symptoms. However, if most patients do not have obvious symptoms and are not treated in time, it will increase the possibility of inflammatory changes in the veins such as itching, flaking, rashes, and even serious complications such as hemorrhage, thrombosis, and ulceration of the veins of the lower extremities. Treatment of varicose veins of the lower limbs requires patients to go to a professional vascular surgery department for standardized individualized treatment. Minimally invasive treatment can be chosen to reduce incisions or even zero incisions, but not all patients are suitable for it, and it needs to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. After the treatment, patients should have regular checkups, change compression stockings as prescribed by the doctor, and avoid early physical activities, which is conducive to the recovery and elimination of varicose veins in the lower limbs.
