Effects of Digoxin Tablets

Digoxin tablets are one of the more commonly used drugs in cardiovascular medicine, mainly used for hypertension, heart disease, valvular heart disease combined with acute and chronic heart failure, the main effect of positive inotropy, increase cardiac output; negative frequency, control ventricular rate. Digoxin is not effective for heart failure caused by myocarditis or pericarditis; nor is it effective for hypothyroidism or anemia-induced cardiac decompensation. Because digoxin is a prescription drug, it should be used more carefully, and the dosage must be selected according to the individual situation, for example, a small amount is fine for patients with a weaker and thinner base; patients with a stronger body and a higher body mass index, the dosage should be on the larger side. Digoxin can easily cause hypokalemia, which has a greater impact on cardiovascular patients. If combined with hypokalemia, regular monitoring of blood potassium and appropriate potassium supplementation must be performed. Blood pressure and heart rate should be monitored, firstly the heart rate, secondly the heart rhythm; electrolytes should be monitored, such as potassium, magnesium and calcium; and renal function and liver function should be monitored regularly. Digoxin can not be increased, decreased or discontinued during the medication, it must be used under the guidance of a doctor.
