For many years, the surgical treatment of colorectal cancer has been based on the traditional transabdominal incision, which generally has an incision length of more than 20 cm, causing heavy pain, long duration of pain, affecting the beauty of the abdominal wall and forming abdominal wall hernia after surgery, and taking a long time to recover. Since the development of laparoscopy, especially in the past five years, laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer has become a major trend. International guidelines for colorectal cancer treatment also recommend laparoscopic surgery for the radical treatment of colorectal cancer, and more than 85% of colorectal cancers in Japan are operated laparoscopically. The advantages of laparoscopic surgery are: small incision, light pain, early discharge from bed, less damage, fast recovery, beautiful appearance, and the same curative effect as open surgery.
