What happened to the positive mucus filaments?

Positive mucus filaments means that mucus filaments are found in routine urine examination, which may be caused by gynecological inflammation and urinary tract infection.

1. Gynecological inflammation: when women find mucus filaments positive in the examination, it may be due to the mixing of leukorrhea in the urine. When women suffer from gynecological inflammatory diseases, the leukorrhea will contain inflammatory cells, and there will be the manifestation of mucus filaments positive, which needs to do the routine examination of leukorrhea again to make clear the cause.

2. Urinary system infection: If a woman is found to have positive mucus filaments and elevated leukocytes in the urine with symptoms of urinary urgency, painful urination and dysuria during the examination, it is considered that there is inflammation in the urethra, which may be caused by urinary system infection.

If only the mucus filament is positive in the routine urinalysis, and all other items are normal, and the person being examined does not have any uncomfortable symptoms, there is no clinical significance and no treatment is needed. If the positive mucus filament is confirmed to be caused by inflammation, it can be treated by drinking more water, urinating more and taking antibiotics.
