Fried hawthorn soaking water has certain effects of eliminating food and strengthening stomach, promoting circulation of qi and dispersing blood stasis, resolving turbidity and lowering fat (cleansing the body of dirty and turbid substances and reducing excess fat in the body), but the active ingredients of Chinese herbal medicine soaking water are limited to be analyzed, so it cannot replace the therapeutic effect of medicine.
Hawthorn is the dried mature fruit of Shanlihong or hawthorn of Rosaceae plant, with sour taste, sweet, slightly warm nature, with the efficacy of resolving turbidity and lowering fat, eliminating food and strengthening stomach, and promoting circulation of qi and dissipating blood stasis. It is used for meat and food stagnation, stomach and epigastric distension, diarrhea and abdominal pain, blood stasis and menstrual closure, postpartum stagnation, heart and abdominal stabbing pain, chest paralysis (chest stuffiness and pain) and heart pain, hernia pain, hyperlipidemia and other conditions.
Raw hawthorn is good at eliminating food and dispersing blood stasis; fried hawthorn eases the stimulation to the stomach and is good at eliminating food and strengthening the stomach. Its adverse effects are not clear, and those with excessive gastric acid secretion should be cautious in using it.
Fried hawthorn in water can also have some of the above effects, but the active ingredients of Chinese medicine in water are limited and cannot replace the therapeutic effect of drugs.
