Improper lifting of heavy objects or excessive weight bearing, lifting heavy objects and lumbar sprains are very likely to cause lumbar disc herniation. (× must be avoided, √ represents the correct way to carry things) Lumbar disc herniation is a common and frequent disease, most often leading to low back pain accompanied by lower limb radiating pain, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. Acute herniation or compression of nerve roots is particularly painful and very painful for patients. The pain is severe when lying in bed, turning over, and sitting up in bed. The presence of urinary and fecal dysfunction and numbness in the saddle area require emergency surgery; otherwise, the prognosis is poor and the consequences are serious. Through history taking, physical examination, CT and MRI, conservative treatment can be used after the doctor diagnoses lumbar disc herniation: rest, physical therapy, dehydrating drugs, hormones, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and functional exercises for the lumbar back muscles (key points: see my other popular science article). Patients with a clear diagnosis on CT or MRI and poor results with regular conservative treatment can be treated surgically. For those with spinal stenosis, traction should never be used, and massage should not be used, as it may cause paralysis and other symptoms. Conventional surgery for lumbar disc nucleus pulposus removal through a posterior window, the surgical incision is about 5 cm and is not very traumatic. In recent years, our hospital has carried out foraminoscopic lumbar disc nucleus pulposus removal with local anesthesia, little trauma and quick recovery, and patients can get out of bed on the same day or the next day. Summary of the advantages of intervertebral foraminoscopy technology: 1.Small trauma, beautiful The incision is only 0.7cm, avoiding interference with the spinal canal and nerves in traditional posterior surgery, not biting off the vertebral plate, not destroying the paravertebral muscles and ligaments, and not affecting the stability of the spine. 2.Wide indications Can deal with almost all types of disc herniation. 3, high safety local anesthesia, intraoperative communication with the patient, no injury to nerves and blood vessels; basically no bleeding, clear surgical field of vision, greatly reducing the risk of misoperation. 4.Fast recovery, short hospitalization time The next day after surgery, you can go down to the ground and resume normal work and physical exercise in 4 weeks on average. 5.High patient satisfaction Directly reach the site of compression, take out the nucleus pulposus, and relieve pain quickly.
