An intestinal polyp of 0.5 refers to an intestinal polyp with a diameter of 0.5 centimeters. Such intestinal polyps recover around 24h or 7-14 days after removal, depending on the type of surgery performed. Intestinal polyps can occur in any part of the intestinal tract, and common intestinal polyps occur in the sigmoid colon. Depending on the type of intestinal polyp, different surgical methods are used, such as endoscopic resection of common pedunculated polyps, which are usually recovered in about 24h because of the small resection area. In case of broad-based adenomatous polyps, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) or endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) can be used, because these two types of surgery will remove the mucous membrane and submucous membrane, so the recovery time will be longer, and it will take about 7~14 days. It is important to follow your doctor’s instructions and be active in your postoperative recovery after having an intestinal polypectomy.
