Efficacy and effects of imipenem cistatin sodium

Imipenem cistatin sodium is a new type of β-lactam antibiotic, which has both extremely strong broad-spectrum antibacterial activity and β-lactamase inhibition. It has the characteristics of powerful anti-Gram-positive action of first-generation cephalosporins and the broad-spectrum antibacterial property produced by third-generation cephalosporins against negative bacilli. The high stability of lactamase has extremely strong antibacterial activity against negative bacilli, including drug-resistant negative bacilli. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, and Bacteroides fragilis, which are highly susceptible to β-lactam antibiotics, are also highly sensitive to it. The antibacterial spectrum of this product includes almost all clinically significant pathogenic bacteria, and some methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and group D streptococci are also sensitive to imipenem.
