What to do about peeling skin caused by adapalene

Adapalene is a retinoid and is usually applied to patients suffering from acne and closed pimples. The appearance of peeling skin indicates that the skin is sensitive to this drug. In clinical treatment, first, this drug and other medications of the retinoic acid class, such as tazarotene gel or retinoic acid ointment, need to be discontinued to avoid the reoccurrence of irritation. Second, oral antihistamines such as lupatadine fumarate tablets or imipramine extended-release tablets, combined with compound glycopyrrolate capsules, and topical medications such as vitamin E ointment or butyl flufenamic acid ointment, and for facial rashes, pimecrolimus ointment can also be applied.
