What are the results of surgical treatment for pancreatic cancer disease?

Pancreatic cancer is a malignant tumor of the gastrointestinal tract that is highly malignant, difficult to diagnose and treat, and about 90% of them are ductal adenocarcinomas originating from the epithelium of the adenohypophysis. Its morbidity and mortality rate has increased significantly in recent years. 5-year survival rate is <1%, and it is one of the malignant tumors with the worst prognosis. The diagnosis rate of pancreatic cancer in early stage is not high, the surgical mortality rate is high, and the cure rate is very low. The incidence of this disease is higher in men than in women, and the ratio of men to women is 1.5 to 2:1. The cause of pancreatic cancer is not well understood, and its occurrence is related to smoking, alcohol consumption, high-fat and high-protein diet, excessive coffee consumption, environmental pollution and genetic factors. Currently, the treatment for this disease is to take various herbal medicines for transient relief on the one hand, and surgery with radiotherapy on the other, but many people are worried about the surgery and are not sure what the effect of surgery will be. When pancreatic cancer first develops, upper abdominal discomfort and vague pain are the first symptoms of the disease; while the main symptoms of advanced pancreatic cancer are jaundice, symptomatic diabetes and increased abdominal pain. Due to the special location of the pancreas, a considerable number of patients find discomfort and are easily misdiagnosed as stomach disease when they visit the hospital, so pancreatic cancer is usually found to be in the middle to late stage. In our treatment process, almost 80% of patients come to the pancreatic specialist only after a long time from the onset of the disease. So what is the best treatment option at present? At present, many patients and their family members have a one-sided understanding of pancreatic cancer and decide to give up the treatment or take some herbal medicines to strengthen the resistance. But it is important to know that this is not only irresponsible to ourselves, but also an attitude to life. We have to keep a positive heart and make ourselves live a meaningful life. The fundamental treatment principle for pancreatic cancer is still based on surgical treatment combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and surgery is the only way to prolong the survival of patients. The survival period of untreated pancreatic cancer patients is about 4 months, the survival period of patients treated with bypass surgery is about 7 months, and patients can generally survive for more than 16 months after resection surgery, and the survival rate of more than 2 years is more than 40 percent. For this reason, early diagnosis and early treatment is the key to improve and enhance the prognosis of pancreatic cancer, and the application of adjuvant treatment such as radiotherapy after surgery can improve the survival rate. This treatment method is gradually accepted and promoted by everyone, and is recognized and accepted by the majority of pancreatic cancer patients.
