In general, hereditary cholestatic liver disease is not curable. There are only measures that can be taken to alleviate the symptoms and some malignant lesions have a poor prognosis.
Hereditary cholestatic liver disease, also known as familial intrahepatic cholestasis, is a congenital disease in which patients may experience symptoms such as itching, which can easily affect their normal life. Symptoms can be controlled and relieved through a series of treatments, such as the use of ursodeoxycholic acid and phenobarbital to relieve itching under medical supervision.
Hereditary cholestatic liver disease does not have any effective treatment to cure it. And it may progressively aggravate, and some patients may develop into cirrhosis and liver cancer, with severe liver damage, poor prognosis, and death at any time, which cannot be cured.
