Tenofovir is an antiviral drug, mainly used for the antiviral treatment of hepatitis B and AIDS. It can also be used as a remedy for drug resistance to other drugs, and can be switched to or added to tenofovir for those who are resistant to lamivudine or entecavir. The main shortcoming of this drug is that long-term use may affect renal function, with impaired renal tubular function and decreased glomerular filtration rate. Some may also affect low calcium and phosphorus, leading to adverse reactions such as osteochondrosis, so long-term users should regularly review kidney function electrolytes every six months and regularly monitor bone density.
